Set among the rolling tea estates of Ella, Newburgh Ella is a restored tea factory hotel shaped by Sri Lanka’s hill country heritage. Once a working factory, the century-old building has been carefully restored, with original elements preserved to reflect its past. Newburgh Ella was modernised in 2009 to produce Chinese-style green tea and later won the Best Green Tea Factory award at the National Tea Awards. Today, perfected by Browns Group, the world’s largest tea manufacturer, the hotel carries a level of authenticity rooted in real tea expertise.
